Special Needs Care Network Has Added Speech Therapy

Special Needs Care Network has added speech therapy.

Families requesting help at specialneedsusa.com can now select speech therapy as the service they need, alongside special needs schools and ABA therapy. The option covers communication, language, and feeding support, and it went live in August 2026. Special Needs Care Network matches families with special needs care providers in the United States at specialneedsusa.com.

What the change is

Until this month, a family arriving at Special Needs Care Network chose between two services: a special needs school placement, or ABA therapy. Speech was the most common thing families asked for that the request form could not represent.

The request form now carries three services.

ServiceCovers
Special Needs SchoolSchool placement and education support
ABA TherapyBehavioral therapy and autism support
Speech TherapyCommunication, language, and feeding support

A family selects the service, answers a few questions about the child's age and location, and submits the request. Special Needs Care Network follows up on speech requests directly.

Selecting speech therapy is a request, not an instant shortlist. The speech provider listings are being built out, and until that work is finished the follow-up is handled by the team rather than returned automatically by the site.

Who decides what a child needs

A speech-language pathologist evaluates and recommends. A pediatrician refers. A school team decides what the school provides. Three separate decisions, three separate parties, and they do not automatically agree.

Nothing on this page replaces any of them. A request form helps a family run a search. It does not establish what a child needs, and it is not a substitute for an evaluation.

The five questions that decide the shortlist

Ask every provider the same five questions, in the same order, and write down the answers. Comparable answers are the entire point.

QuestionWhy it decides the shortlist
What is the current wait for an evaluation, and separately for ongoing sessions? These are two different waits. A two week evaluation with a six month therapy wait is a six month wait.
Do you bill our insurance, and are you in network?Out of network changes the cost structure, not just the price.
What ages do you actually see?Pediatric ranges vary widely between clinics.
Where do sessions happen: clinic, home, school, or online? This decides whether the schedule survives a work week.
Who runs the session, and will it be the same person each week?Continuity matters to families more than most intake forms ask about.

Five providers answering these five questions produces a decision. Five providers answering five different questions produces a pile of notes.

Waitlists are the constraint

The scarce resource in pediatric therapy is appointment slots, not listings. A search returning thirty clinics has not solved anything if twenty-eight are closed to new patients.

Call before comparing. Rank by who can actually see the child, then compare the ones who can.

Where speech providers appear today

Special Needs Care Network operates a directory of ABA therapy providers and special education schools in more than 2,300 cities across all 50 US states.

Therapy providers listed by Special Needs Care Network include clinics that offer speech therapy alongside ABA therapy. Those clinics appear on the therapy pages for their city. Mesa, Arizona, Austin, Texas, and Savannah, Georgia are examples of city pages listing such clinics.

Read the individual listing rather than the category label. A clinic listing several services may not offer all of them at every location, and service lists change faster than directories do. Confirm on the call.

If cost is the blocker rather than availability, the guides cover funding and policy questions by state.

A sequence that works

  1. Get the evaluation, or find out how to get one.
  2. Request speech therapy at specialneedsusa.com, or search directly by city.
  3. Narrow by who is accepting new patients.
  4. Ask all five questions above, of every provider, in the same order.
  5. Check funding once a shortlist exists, not before.
